Young musicians bring rock show to Modesto’s Fat Cat

Seventeen bands shook the Fat Cat Music House & Lounge on Sunday as the VMI Rocks Summer Tour 2012, put on by the Valley Music Institute, gave potential stars a chance to shine.

The band Bad Reputation featured Cale Morris, 7, on keyboards; Blair Morris, 9, on bass; Parker Valo, 8, on drums; Dakota Evans, 10, as the lead singer; and Joey Martin, 11, on guitar.

Sam Anderson, 17, got his hair into the act as part of Without A Cause. According to Anderson’s father, Sam is also a member of a jazz band in the Modesto area and enjoys performing both music genres
